I was looking for this clip thanks to whom ever put it up it was embarrassing to watch live as I was a looser on a Friday night. Understandably Caitlin Upton was under pressure. If I recall from her bio she played soccer in Europe and was my favorite because of her healthy sexy soccer glow running around......
Also the nights pageant understandably did not underscore the former Miss Tenn USA 2006 Katie Blair that was (you know) messing around with Tara Conner Miss Universe last year. They didn't say it but I was thinking it..

Realizing she had far too much to say on this issue in the time provided, she decided not to answer 'conventionally' but instead adopt the 'multi dimensional, free association, self mocking parody poem' form.
Her answer in fact not only answers the question (brilliantly), but also challenges many other issues related to her perceived status as a woman in society and specifically in an event such as this- themes she clearly wanted to explore...
Yes, I concur. I think she understood that in todays media soundbite obsessed culture she needed to make a variety of intellectually sound points while at the same time being careful not to alienate the show's target audience. This she did with aplomb. I also agree wholeheartedly in her implied assertion that the US should not have gone unilaterally into Iraq and that South Africa must stop supporting Mugabwe's corrupt regime in Zimbabwe.
But her observational humor is so astute, wit so sharp and intelligence so daring it has completely gone over everyone's heads.
In this way it is in fact SHE who is mocking US.
If anyone knows Caitlin Upton I would love to interview her on my show.
